The Itinerary
The first evening is designed to ease you gently into the rhythm of the retreat. Restorative, thoughtful, and intentionally unhurried.
Set within the peaceful surroundings of The Harbour Hotel, moments from Richmond Park, guests are welcomed by your hosts, Hayley, Lisa and
Louise, with refreshments served in the Moroccan Lounge as you settle in.
An opening gathering offers an introduction to the weekend, creating space to connect and gently transition away from the pace of everyday
professional life. As evening falls, a deeply restorative sound bath invites calm and stillness before dinner is served in the secluded Garden Terrace, where conversation and connection can unfold naturally.
Saturday offers a carefully curated balance of experiential learning, reflective practice, and restoration. The day begins with guided breathwork, offering a grounding start to the day, before a leisurely breakfast overlooking the hotel gardens. Guests are then invited into an experiential exploration of
phototherapy, using images as a powerful starting point for reflection, emotional awareness, and personal insight. Through guided exercises and shared
reflection, the morning unfolds as an immersive and thought-provoking experience.
Following a relaxed lunch, the retreat continues with a reflective walk through the beautiful landscape of Richmond Park. This offers an opportunity to slow down and reconnect with the natural environment. The afternoon turns towards genogram work and relational insight, exploring patterns, personal narratives, systemic awareness and the ways our experiences shape how we relate to others both personally and
professionally. As evening approaches, there is time to rest, journal or simply unwind before gathering for an elegant private dining experience in the hotel’s Georgian Library Room.
The remainder of the evening is left intentionally open, allowing space for relaxed conversation with fellow guests and retreat facilitators or taking time to enjoy the hotel’s spa facilities.
The final day is centred around integration, perspective, and thoughtful reflection. Following a morning breathwork practice and a leisurely breakfast, guests are invited into workshops exploring genograms and social graces through experiential learning and reflective discussion. These sessions offer space to consider identity, culture, relationships, lived experience and the impact these can have within both personal and professional life.
After a relaxed lunch, the retreat moves into a final integration session, offering time to consolidate insights from the weekend and reflect on how the approaches explored may continue to support greater awareness, resilience and connection beyond the retreat space.
The weekend concludes with a closing gathering and refreshments — a final opportunity to pause, reflect, and savour the connections made over the course of the retreat.

What we do at the Reflective Practitioner
CPD workshops, and reflective practice for counsellors, frontline workers, and multidisciplinary teams. Our retreats and workshops provide space for reflection, connection, and professional growth in supportive, tranquil environments.

Why we do what we do ...
As a team of psychotherapists and reflective practitioners, we are increasingly aware of the growing pressures faced by frontline workers, multidisciplinary teams, and allied professionals. Working closely with people and their lived experiences can be deeply meaningful and rewarding, but it can also be complex, emotionally demanding, and, at times, overwhelming. Without adequate space to process these experiences, professionals may find themselves at risk of burnout, compassion fatigue, and disconnection from both themselves and their work.
We believe that caring for those who care for others is essential. Creating space for reflection not only supports the wellbeing and sustainability of practitioners, but also enhances the quality of care offered to clients and patients. When professionals feel supported, resourced, and connected, this has a positive impact across the wider team and organisational culture. While this work can be enriching and purposeful, it can also be exhausting and draining—making it all the more important to prioritise reflective practice, connection, and ongoing professional development.

In response to this, we bring together a thoughtfully designed space that integrates training and continued professional development with experiential learning and reflective practice. This approach supports professionals to deepen their skills while also developing a clearer understanding of the impact of their work on others, and the impact of others on themselves. Alongside this, we create opportunities for meaningful connection with like-minded professionals, enabling shared learning, dialogue, and support. Importantly, these spaces also allow time to step back, to rest, and to recalibrate—recognising that sustainable practice requires both professional growth and personal renewal.
